Motivation Monday - What Drives You?
Putting on some Clarity and Envision Blends today for some mindful thinking. It's one of my favorite combinations to use when I have a mental block, or when I want to dive deeper into what I'm doing. Sadly, I don't use them often enough!

The kids were watching a Veggie Tales movie once and I remembered - vaguely - seeing an interview with Phil Vischer done with the creator some time back. So I looked up the interview, out of curiosity, and found some things in the interview that resonated with me with regard to my business and the way I run things. It also resonates with how I live my life, and why we do things in our home the way we do.

These quotes come from the linked article above if you want to read the whole thing.
... the question I ignored was, "How did God wire me?" Because He didn't necessarily call me to see how big an organization I could build.
Today when I talk to people, I spend a lot of time trying to get them to consider what is driving them. Why do you want to do what you say you want to do? Do you have peace in your life? Because if you're stressed, if you're worried, if you're anxious, something ain't right.
I only get my form when I stay in the current of God's will and allow Him to carry me where He wants me to be. ... I'm not supposed to be pursuing impact, I'm supposed to be pursuing God. And when I pursue God I will have exactly as much impact as He wants me to have.
... the way Paul and Barnabas did a ministry was to walk to a town, and if that town didn't want them they'd shake the dust off their sandals. They wouldn't sit there plotting for 10 years on how to take over the town, they'd just say, "OK, the Holy Spirit is taking us elsewhere."
That doesn't mean I just sit here waiting for God to hand me a Post-it note with tomorrow's agenda. But I brainstorm, I have ideas, I put them on the wall, and I pray about them. Then one of those ideas will start to percolate a bit, start to bubble, and then I chase the bubble to see if that's where God is moving me. But if suddenly God seems to be moving me in a different direction, I let go of that idea, because it's just an idea. If I keep calling it my dream, I'm holding on to it too tightly until it becomes something I can't let go of.

I have been involved in four different work-from-home businesses in the last twenty years, and Young Living has been by far the most successful. I have risen up by 5 ranks and have a team of more than 400 members - and inside of that, I am always contemplating how to be a good leader of my brand partners but also a source of help to my customers while trying to follow godly principles. I have never believed that having a job is about the dollars, but about helping others, satisfaction, and making a move towards your purpose in life.

While Phil Vischer and I do not attend the same church, some of what he said is really helping me better form my ideas for not only how to lead in my business, but also in how to better handle the issues that come up in staying at home with the kids. As a guy who has started two rather successful companies, I think he's worth a look in both areas.

"The expression is:' Where there's a will, there's a way.'
The question is: Whose will?"

Happy Monday,

A journey in joyful living

I'm a mom of eight, with #9 on the way, living life with intention. Control of my time is more important to me than getting a dollar through punching a time clock because it allows me to spend time on the important things like my church, building a strong community, and guiding my children. Every Sunday, we have as many as 30 people join us for dinner and fellowship - and I love every minute of it. I have an amazing life.

But it takes work and intention to have this life - it means eating real foods, and using supplements and home care products that support our bodies in good health. It means managing sleep, stress, and good mental health practices. It means watching what we keep around our personal space. Let me help you get a life you love too - let's look together at what your daily activities look like and what you need to embrace - or let go - to reset and renew your love-affair with the life you live; let's form a friendship that encourages you and nurtures your spirit.
