To those who walked the path before me, thank you for leading the charge
To those who walked with me, it was a better journey because you were there.
And to you who continue to carry the burden today - thank you for your service and keeping us safe.
Finally - and perhaps most importantly - to the family members who walk the path alongside their veterans: thank you for the quiet service you provide. It is too often un-honored, too often not noticed, and I am here to say I walked your path too - and it too was among the best times of my life.
